Have you heard about Freecycle?
Freecycle is an online collection of forums that allow you to give away what you don’t need.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, as the old saying goes.
The Freecycle network exists to keep re-usable items out of landfill. It is made up of over 5,300 groups with over 9 million members in over 70 countries around the world. There will be a group near you.

Freecycle is ‘grassroots’ and entirely non-profit, a movement of people who have been giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and neighbourhoods since 2003.
Each local group is moderated by local volunteers and membership is free.
Why is this important?
Re-use is much better than discarding items. This is especially true of plastic but applies to everything really. We are dumping stuff into our seas and landfill, or incinerating it, at an alarming and dangerous rate.
Freecycle makes passing things on for re-use as simple as typing a short message and making a few click.
It also helps you declutter your life and it helps those who receive items, often the more needy in our societies.
What’s not to like?
Take action – please visit The Freecycle Network and join now, and give away your re-usable but no-longer needed items. You’ll be amazed what can be saved from the dump!
