Suitcase wrapped in plastic film

Action: Avoid those airport wrapping machines

Cost of taking this action: £0 – SAVES MONEY

Wrapping a suitcase in cling film is a criminal single use of plastic!

In this quite short post this week, we are highlighting yet another totally useless use of plastic … wrapping your suitcase in metres and metres of cling film. This single use of plastic is a weird one to us.

Why would anyone do this … it is just so expensive, polluting and unnecessary!?

If you are concerned about the strength of your suitcase or about it popping open in transit, then use a belt or a proper suitcase strap! A decent strap that you can use time and time again will cost less than one airport charge to wrap your case and add to our plastic pollution problem.

This idea is, quite frankly, pretty stupid!

Please – just don’t do it!

Why is this important?

Well … single use plastic is a big, big polluter, please read more about this at this page. Anything we can do to reduce our consumption of single use plastics has to be a good thing.

Simples!

Take action

This is a very simple action to take, and is an easy way to contribute next time you travel (if you must travel by air!), and at no cost, to cleaning up our world.
